John believes in teaching a diverse program that will encourage the student to learn a variety of musical styles. He attended Manhattan School of Music and played in the Air Force Band while serving in the military. He has studied with Jim Chapin, Sonny Igoe, and Fred Albright -drummers who influenced and inspired him to play. As an instructor, John has done clinics, organized and managed drum competitions, and published an instructional newsletter. John has been teaching publicly and privately for a number of years. As a full time musician, he has worked extensively backing many top artists on stage and in the studio. John is a freelance drummer who has performed professionally in a variety of settings, playing everything from rock to jazz. John is accepting students whose skill level is beginner through advanced.
