Colin McGetrick has been evolving as a musician for 16 years. Beginning with the guitar, he has independently studied folk, jazz, funk, hip-hop, reggae, blues, Latin music and rock. In 2003-2004, Colin studied music theory and composition under the faculty of West Chester University. Growing up surrounded by music, Colin was influenced to learn the bass, mandolin, drum kit, keyboards, and the latest in digital music production software. He currently teaches acoustic and electric guitar, bass, and digital music creation for various facilities in Kennett Square, Downingtown, and West Chester. Colin’s students range from age 6 to 30 and are primarily beginner through intermediate players. While his instruction is specifically tailored to the needs of his students, Colin also provides a well-rounded education on technique and music theory. Colin has had the opportunity to perform and record with some of West Chester’s finest musicians and currently works with local bands, Downhill Racer and Venomous.
