Colin McGetrick currently teaches acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, Ukelele, mandolin and digital music production in various facilities of Kennett Square and West Chester. Colin has been studying and playing music for 17 years. Beginning with the guitar, he has independently studied folk, jazz, funk, hip-hop, reggae, blues, Latin music, rock, pop and dance. His educational background includes a study of music theory and composition under the faculty of West Chester University.
Today you may find Colin behind the mixing board of Tribesound Records, the recording studio at Taylor’s. He spends much of his time recording and producing his own music as well as the work of others. Performance has always been an important part of Colin’s life. He is fortunate to have played on many stages in the Philadelphia area and beyond, including The World Café, NBC’s “The Ten Show”, SXSW of Austin TX, and West Chester’s own, The Note.
Students of all ages and experience levels are welcome to inquire about
studying with Colin. He currently works with children from age 6 to adult.
Each of Colin’s students has their own unique interests, talents
and ways of learning, and he enjoys the opportunity to work with each
and every one towards their own progressive musicianship. While his instruction
is specifically tailored to the needs of his students, Colin also works
to instill a well-rounded, working knowledge of fundamentals concerning
instrumental technique, music theory, performance and songwriting.
