Chris Cotter, a 26 year-old professional musician from the greater Philadelphia area has spent the last 16 years studying and performing music. A well-rounded drummer, his sound integrates Rock, Folk, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk, and Latin Styles. He has studied from Greg Zeller (Rock/funk/reading fundamentals), Fred Biondi (latin/Jazz/Technique/advanced reading/teaching skills), University of Delaware's professor Tom Palmer (advanced chart reading/latin/Jazz/West African rhythms), Michael Lauren (Technique), and Memo Acevedo (Afro Cuban). Chris is currently studying at Drummers Collective in Manhattan under Kim Plainsfield (Funk/advanced reading/rock) and Guy Licata (Technique/Jungle/drum & bass/ hip-hop). He visits local schools and conducts a music motivational school assembly entitled "Practice Makes Perfect". Chris has been teaching for six years and has been a member of the Taylors music teachers faculty for the last three and a half. In addition to his teaching practice Mr. Cotter is steadily working with a successful philly based band Diatribe.
