Yamaha Music Laboratory System

The integrated system designed to multiply your teaching power.

At last, each student can receive the personalized and individual private attention he or she needs, without putting the rest of the class on hold.  The secret is Yamaha's MLC-100 Music Laboratory System.   This compact, powerful console lets you connect up to sixteen Yamaha Clavinova digital pianos (or other electronic keyboards) at once, allowing you to teach a multi-level class of sixteen students simultaneously.

Teach them separately, together.

Headsets with built-in microphones let your students play and communicate privately with you or with other students, so those with special difficulties no longer feel shy about joining in a group lesson with others.   For practice and ensemble playing, the MLC100's flexible grouping features let you have students play solo, or within any one of four teacher asignable groups of two, three, four or more students.  What's more, your can monitor and enjoy private two-way communication with any individual student or group from your teaching station.   And, at the touch of a button any student can signal the teacher for assistance, so there's no need to wander around the classroom to find and help students who need attention.

The MLC-100 - so many advantages over conventional methods.

  • Cost - The MLC-100 saves equipment cost, plus the cost of soundproofed classrooms by using digital pianos (never need tuning or regulation)
  • Time - Individual students of different levels of playing abilities plus those students requiring special assistance no longer hold up the progress of the entire class.
  • Convenience - You can communicate with individual students, pairs or groups - Privately, from your own keyboard, without disturbing other students or interrupting the entire class.
  • Efficiency - Students of different playing abilities can attend the same lesson resulting in full classes.  A student missing a class can "make-up" a lesson with another group without scheduling valuable private time with the teacher.
  • Organize Classroom Activities - Ensemble playing, duets, one-on-one instruction, students helping students, a student teacher assisting you with one, two, three, or four groups.  All of this happening simultaneously with you in control of all activities from the teacher station using the MLC-100.  And, you can instantly change the classroom configuration by pressing a single button!

The list is growing all the time.

In addition to the hundreds of schools and colleges around the world that are using the Yamaha Music Laboratory System, Taylor's Music Store has installed several systems throughout the area.

  • Henderson High School - Joseph Buglio - West Chester Area School District
  • West Chester East High School - Ray Hunsicker - West Chester Area School District (pictured)
  • Immaculata College - Sister Jean Anthony
